My Inspiration For The Guilty Woman

“OH GOD! OH God, oh God, is he dead?” was the line in the novel I read that led to the creation of The Guilty Woman. After reading the line, my mind started to race. Jotting down all the ideas that rushed to me, the storyline for The Guilty Woman was born.

The moment I sat down to write the novel, the words poured onto the screen seamlessly and effortlessly. The lead character, Francesca Thompson, and her love interest, Tommy Scott, are very real to me. Their failures and triumphs were mine, as were the influences that kept them apart and the circumstances that eventually brought them together.

I love this story not because I conjured it up but because it moves me and brings a tear to my eye every time I think about it.

In one way or another, we have all been in Francesca’s shoes. We have been the youthful, naïve, who falls in love with the bad boy our fathers disapprove of. We are the Francesca, who falls in love with a dreamer like Tommy, who gives her the moon and stars on their first date.

We are all the romantics who cheer Francesca on as she scours the earth to find Tommy when he disappears from her life.

I truly hope you enjoy Francesca’s story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
